Hi! I’m Jess, founder of VA Jess K, where we believe business support should feel like a deep exhale, not another to-do list item.
Before starting my own company, I spent 10 years at a small-but-mighty tech startup, where I did…basically everything. I provided customer support to billion-dollar clients, managed shipping logistics, built community forums, coordinated team events, pitched in on investor decks, and served as a bridge between engineers, execs, and clients. I learned how to make chaos manageable and how to wear a dozen hats well.
Now I help solopreneurs do the same. My sweet spot is systems and strategy, from setting up automations to optimizing client workflows to helping you figure out what’s actually worth your time. I bring big-picture thinking, detail-level follow-through, and genuine excitement for your business.
When I’m not deep in client work, I’m probably performing (I’m also an actor), giving my very spoiled bunny Zoe some attention, or turning a new idea into a Trello board before I’ve even finished my coffee.
Working with Me Feels Like...
…you’ve gained a best friend who just so happens to know a lot about running a business without losing your mind. I’ll never get tired of hearing about your latest idea, and I’ll be right there celebrating every milestone, every new customer, and every “oh my god it finally clicked” moment.

I'm Erica!
When I was working corporate jobs, I spent a lot of time tailoring my resume’s “About Me” section. Eventually, thanks to some corporate pals, I landed on: “Detail-oriented and mission-driven professional with 10+ years of multifaceted experience, known for precision in detailed tasks, collaborative work ethic, and strong communication skills.”
That sounds very official, sure, but it doesn’t really capture the nuance I love. (I’m an actor like Jess, and actors love when our text gives us something to work with.)
What I want to say when folks ask about my resume is: I’ve done a lot of different things over the years. I’m a fast learner, and it matters to me that I do my job well. I don’t mind a tedious task; I’ve done my fair share of data entry. I don’t mind making the phone calls you dread; I’ve worked in customer service. And no task is too strange. (Ask me about my time as a mascot.) I’m here to help you do what you need to do.
I’ve done everything from cater-waiter service to personal assistant work to data processing at an international nonprofit. If I don’t know how to do it, I can sure find you someone who does.
Working with me feels like…
…you’ve hired on Eldest Daughter™. I'm the one who always did all the work in the group projects at school and that has not changed as I’ve gotten older. It means you know your things will be done and turned in on time. I will also provide you with many dog photos upon request.
